I know that many people are shocked and worried about the recent abortion decision in America.
We all know that women’s rights are not where they should be worldwide, for example we are still working in some countries to give girls the same education rights as boys; but to take a backwards step is frightening, and makes every right we have in this country feel fragile.
I want to reassure everyone reading this that abortion is consistently supported across all political parties in this country, indeed we extended access to abortion recently in a vote (see my speech on this above).
Abortion is a human right, it is vital healthcare for women and in this country that is not going to change.
