Visitors, family and friends are vital advocates for patients in hospital, and I know from cases raised with me, how difficult it has been not having them there during the covid restrictions.
I want to see an end to these restrictions across our healthcare system as soon as it is safe to do so, and as part of my membership of the Health and Social Care Committee, I this week asked the Secretary of State for an update.
He confirmed the Department for Health and Social Care are keeping this under constant review, and being led by the UK Health Security Agency. I will continue to push for full visitor’s rights as I know how important it is for families across both Sevenoaks and Swanley.
