I have continued to press TfL for action to restore the right turn from the A21 onto Sevenoaks Road (commonly known as London Road) Halstead.
I have now been advised that following on from the consultation, the process will be carried out in phases. The first phase will be a speed reduction to 40 mph in the relevant location - which they are currently working on to deliver. They tell me that due to the complexities and processes involved, this will take several months for this to come into effect.
Following on from this, they will then commence the processes and actions needed to restore the right-turn.
In the meanwhile, the existing Temporary Order which closed the turning, now has to be renewed. After having already had a Temporary Order, TfL tell me they have no option but to move to a permanent Order – but have assured me this will have no adverse effect upon the process to re-open in due course.
You can comment on the order before 16 October via https://publicnoticeportal.uk/.../66f6806d978f0480816b0d86 quoting the appropriate reference NMR/REGULATION/STOT/GLA/2024/0525
TfL have agreed to keep me updated, and as and when I have more news I will be sure to update you.
