I was delighted to this morning attend the formal launch of the Eynsford and District Community Car Scheme – which offers help to those without cars and/or limited mobility to get to medical and other important appointments. As well as volunteer drivers using their own cars, a wheelchair accessible vehicle (named the Space Wagon) has also been purchased using a Government Grant to ensure as many people can be helped as possible.
A huge thank you to Cllr Roger Gough and Kent County Council, who have support the scheme using funding from the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) scheme, as well as Darent Valley Community Church Pastor Adrian Elms and Stephen Boddington who are hosting the project, which is going to make such a difference to so many people across our community.
The scheme is available to residents of Eynsford, Farningham and Lullingstone, as well as those who attend Darent Valley Community Church. Payment is by way of donation at 45p a mile and an admin fee of £3, plus covering other expenses such as parking – so if you think you could benefit please contact them at: https://dvcc.online/community-car/
