Many of my constituents have been worried about the safety of residents and staff in care homes during these difficult times.
Today, as a member of the Health and Social Care Committee, I had the opportunity to ask our panel of expert witnesses from the social care sector about the use of agency workers in our current system, and whether the guidance available to those working in care homes is clear enough on how best to prevent the spread of infections.
I am currently in regularly contact with care homes locally to ensure that I have a clear understanding of the situation – especially in relation to PPE supplies.
