I am delighted to announce that this week’s Community Hero is Pastor Ben Cooper and his wife Kris Cooper from Elim Christian Centre Swanley.
With the help of the community Pastor Ben and Kris have set up an invaluable service to those with food shortages, and have been using the church as a base to distribute food provided by local supermarkets. Several women’s refuges across the constituency have been amongst those to benefit.
I look forward to speaking to both Pastor Ben and Kris later today, and thanking them for the extraordinary efforts during this difficult time. As ever, their story will also be covered in print as part of our Community Heroes partnership with the Sevenoaks Chronicle, which is out on Thursday.
