Today I welcomed the emphasis from the Prime Minister on school return. Safe return to school is vital given the devastating impact the closures have had on children’s mental health, academic attainment, and the heavy burden they have placed on parents.
Now that we know schools - and in particularly primary schools - do not contribute to the spread of this vicious disease, I asked the Prime Minister to share the evidence with headteachers, teachers, parents and students. It is important than we reassure everyone that regardless of the vaccine, schools are safe to fully return.
