Last Friday I spoke with our local NHS trust, who confirmed they plan to continue with elective operations throughout the winter, as long as it is safe to do so.
I am pleased that the Prime Minister confirmed today that he will allow these decisions to be locally led, and I urged him to do all he can to prevent a further backlog forming.
