I have spoken many times about the importance of the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks, There has been a phenomenal effort by the local community, who have donated over £60,000 and by the Town and District Council, who have also provided funding to try to sustain this local institution.
Despite this, its future is in danger. Today I asked the Culture Secretary to support the theatre’s forthcoming application to the Culture Recovery Fund. And, if it is saved and we can go ahead, I am delighted he also agreed to attend the annual pantomime with me.
