I am delighted to announce that rapid-result mass testing is being rolled out across the Sevenoaks District this week.
The testing will find people who don’t currently have symptoms, but may be unknowingly spreading the virus in the community. The sites are part of a rolling programme to help reduce the rates of transmission in Kent.
Our local testing site will be at Swanley Youth Club, St Mary's Road BR8 7BU, and is opening for booking from today: https://kcc.healthit.org.uk/covbook/home
The site will be opened daily from 9am to 7pm Monday, starting on Thursday 7th January. Key workers and their families have already been receiving invites to book as a priority to support the NHS and other frontline services.
Swanley is one of 14 sites across Kent, and I thank everyone involved at Kent Country Council, the Department of Health and Social Care, and the local district and borough councils, who have all played a huge part in the roll out.
Another 10 sites across the county are being planned for the coming weeks. I have been liaising with the authorities, and am hoping for a second site to be opened in Sevenoaks. As ever, l will update you as and when I hear more.
