I have often spoken on her about the importance of Women Safety, and the need for longer sentences.
Many of you will have seen the news reports about the appalling case of Angel Lynn, who suffered catastrophic injuries falling from a van at 60 MPH after her boyfriend abducted her off the street.
Alongside my colleague @laura_farrismp, I wrote to the Law Officers earlier this month to challenge the sentence given to her boyfriend & his accomplice as we felt it was unduly lenient.
I am pleased the Solicitor General has now referred the case & the sentence will be reconsidered by the Court of Appeal.
Horrific crimes, such as this, must be punished if women are to have confidence in the criminal justice system, and I am glad this case is now being reviewed.
