I have received a number of emails recently from concerned locals about dangerous car racing meetings taking place on the border of the London Borough of Bromley and Halstead, at Junction 4 of the M25 spur road leading to the Hewitts roundabout.
Following the emails I raised the concerns with the police, and am pleased they have now started attending the race meetings to put the drivers off from taking part. Whilst I am still hopeful the events will cease, I am happy to follow up with the police over any further reports of issues, so do not hesitate to get in touch.
The brilliant Parish Council have also arranged for the Metropolitan Police to speak to local residents about this issue on Wednesday 22 February 2023, 7:00 pm at the Parish Room, Church Road, Halstead, TN14 7HG. At this meeting they will explain the car culture of noisy exhausts, vehicle modifications and number plate offences, and give an insight into the Police's tactics and operations to protect public spaces and stop these offences.
