You will all know I’ve been doing all I can to fight against the Labour Government’s plans to scrap the Winter Fuel Payment, which will see many pensioners lose up to £300 of energy bills support this winter.
However, the Government won the vote this week so unfortunately it looks like it’s going ahead.
I will continue to do all I can to object, but I want to make sure that locally we’re trying to get as many people as possible help and support. So if you or someone you know is going to be impacted by the Winter Fuel Payment cut, the below list outlines the help available locally. Please share this as widely as possible, and if anyone has things to add then let me know:
If you haven’t already, please do check whether you are eligible for Pension Credit. at: https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit/eligibility
