I was delighted to meet Luke Cashin the fundraising manager for We Are Beams Swanley, along with other staff members.
We are Beams are a brilliant organisation that look after disabled children and support their families throughout Kent (primarily our district as well as Dartford and Gravesham) and offer several key services including family advice, respite care, short break activities and financial services.
It was great to hear how the charity has grown, and is able to offer key services to at least 450 parents and children at any one time. I spent sometime walking around the facilities, with the new improved outside area particularly impressive, which children from Beams had helped design.
