Last week I held a meeting with Baroness Barran, Minister for the School and College System, to discuss with her my campaign to ensure Sixth Form provisions are available within Swanley. Having put forward my case, she was very understanding of the issues we face, and agreed to raise the proposal with her officials – who I too will be meeting with soon to discuss.
I have been working closely with Kent County Council Leader Roger Gough and local county councillor Perry Cole, who both share my desire to see more provisions made available.
Following our success at securing funding to rebuild Orchards Academy, it is now vital that local pupils have access to local Sixth Form provisions. I will keep you updated with my discussions.
