Following on from a solar farm which was granted in Horton Kirby, which received little objection from residents, I was made aware of a further proposal for the massive Chimmens Solar Farm, which stretched across 245 acre at the rear of Saxon Place, Horton Kirby.
I wrote to the district council highlighting the concerns of residents, particular in relation to the cumulative impact of two such solar farms in such close proximity to each other, and was pleased when the application was refused last month by Sevenoaks District Council Official.
Earlier this month I visited the site for myself, and it was great to meet up with local district councillors Alan White and Laurence Ball, who along with the parish council, and local residents successfully fought this planning application.
