Carers play a vital role in our community every day, and to mark #CarersWeek I want to recognise all those across Sevenoaks and Swanley who spend their time looking after someone who could not do without their help.
Caring for your loved ones it’s a wonderful thing to do, but it is no always easy or straightforward. Not only are there emotional and physical demands, but you can struggle to find the time to do the things you want or indeed need to do for yourself - whether that's fitting in work or appointments, seeing friends or just having a moment to yourself from time to time.
Since becoming an MP it has been an honour to meet many of our wonderful carer's face to face, and I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of them today, for all their hard work and dedication.
