Last weekend I joined the team at West Kent Sport & Wellbeing to celebrate their second showcase event which promoted local sport.
I took the opportunity to speak to many of the exhibitors including Sevenoaks Rugby Club, Swanley Rugby Club, Sevenoaks Suns Basketball Club and HC Knole Park to name but a few. They, and the other clubs in attendance, do amazing work within our community – for people of all ages – but I’d like to mention especially their work with children.
The huge number of children in our district that take part in sport outside of school is wonderful and this couldn’t be the case without the dedicated volunteers who run these clubs – whom I salute. It was great to hear of each clubs plans to continue to progress and expand – and I was especially happy that Sevenoaks Suns may well have found a permanent home within the district – with the resultant additional basketball facilities this will bring to our area. 
There were fun activities available for both adults and kids, and my family and I spent an enjoyable few hours at the event.
