Over the last few weeks I have spoken to many concerned parents and teachers from across the constituency who have voiced their nervousness regarding the impact of reopening schools on the spread of COVID-19.
As a member of the Health and Social Care Committee, I today had the chance to raise these issues with the Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance. In particular, I asked about the scientific evidence regarding how at risk children are of the virus, as well as the role children play in spreading the disease to adults.
