I have been campaigning throughout the pandemic to ensure parents, and parents to be, can access vital NHS services safely. This morning I asked the Health Secretary why, despite national pledges, some parents are still experiencing difficulties when accessing neonatal units, and what process the Government have put in place to address this.
I firmly believe that testing should be rolled out to allow for wider parental access to neonatal and paediatric units, and I pleased to hear from the Secretary of State that plans are underway to deliver this.
Given conversations with our local hospitals, I understand that parents at Pembury Hospital can visit together, once their temperature has been checked. Parents at Darent Valley can also visit, however only one at a time. If you, or anyone you know, is having difficulties with visiting your children whilst they are in hospital, please email my team at [email protected] who are on hand to support.
