Maternity services are an issue I feel very strongly about.
Last week, the Health and Social Care Committee held its first evidence session for our enquiry into ‘Safety of maternity services in England’ and I want to thank all our witnesses – particularly Michelle Hemmington who delivered a powerful and moving testimony of her own experiences.
I find it extraordinary that an ideological viewpoint on childbirth is still impacting women’s safety, and therefore asked the witnesses what can be done to stamp this out.
